Space Misfits Development Update for November
We are GROWING and HIRING! 6 new team members have been added to the Space Misfits crew! We will be updating our website to reflect the new people on the team and the current core team members.
We are currently working on several different updates.
Disembark
Disembark is currently under development. You will enter an abandoned ship from Rogue and each ship's interior is procedurally generated. This provides a unique floor map every time you step inside a ship. The ship will contain NPC you have to fight off along with other players. You will progress through the floor to loot resources and other players you take out. These procedurally generated floors will be the engine for future Space Stations that will be deployed on our next major release called Habitats. You will be able to use your avatars in Disembark FPS mode. We will also be releasing new avatars in the future.
Marketplace and Trading
Direct trading goes live the first half of December. We have completed the development and it is currently being tested on the test server. The marketplace is currently in development and scheduled to release a few weeks after direct trading is released. You will be able to trade directly with other players and use the P2P marketplace to sell or buy ships, modules and turrets.
New Avatar and Ship Designs
All avatars and ships are getting a complete redesign. You will see a brand new design for each of the avatars and ships. We are slightly increasing the polygon count to provide a higher quality asset while still delivering a low-poly game.
New $CROWN Token
As you all heard in prior announcements we will be minting a brand new token called CROWN. The CROWN token will replace the SMC token. News about our upcoming token launch and IDO will be coming in the next few weeks. All current SMC holders are advised to hold their SMC if they want a CROWN token replacement. If you own SMC you will be airdropped CROWN when the CROWN gets listed.
R7 Release
We are currently mapping out all-new Rogue Zones, Missions, Tasks and Tutorials for R7. You can expect a huge number of new items, forge recipes, new drops, new rogue zones, new bosses and more for R7. As you can see we are currently working on a multitude of updates alongside designing new game content for R7. We expect to release R7 in December and will continue releasing new game content through our R8 release.
R8 will bring faction gameplay and powerplay. Powerplay brings unique gameplay based on missions and tasks. You will be able to choose a faction and then play through the powerplay. If your faction completes the most missions and tasks your faction will win that week’s powerplay and you will receive specific bonuses based on the faction you decided to choose to play for.
You can expect to choose your faction sometime in December along with detailed information of each faction, their story and what bonuses you can receive.
