What is After Rogue for Space Misfits?

Concept of Disembark FPS Gameplay in Space Misfits

Rogue has been a huge update for us. It contained the first-ever procedurally generated rogue-like multiplayer gameplay that the Space MMO genre has ever seen. As we expand out now the content and gameplay inside Rogue with brand new zones, items to collect and NPCs to fight we already have our sights on the future.

Rogue is not quite finished yet. R7 and R8 releases scheduled in Q4 of 2021 will contain missions and faction warfare. Players will be able to choose a faction they want to play. Each faction will provide a player with stat boosts that improve their performance in Space Misfits. For example, a player could choose a faction with a boost in cargo and mining yield while another faction might increase overall ship damage and range.

A player will be able to choose their faction and level up every day by completing missions for that faction. Each week as players completes their missions their points go towards the Faction Powerplay. Whichever faction wins that weeks Powerplay will be awarded experience points towards that faction giving them a boost in their faction’s level and will enjoy an additional stat increases in that Faction’s choice of stat increases. As a player’s level increases in their faction, they will have greater stat increases from that Faction.

But what is next?

With the few other Space Games in development, we are focused on separating ourselves from the rest. Our next massive update is called Habitats. This will expand our universe and open up new solar systems, new stations and ton of playable content. With this, we need to build an engine to support scaling the universe. This is where our next update will come into place.

Disembark introduces FPS combat to Space Misfits. Disembark is a gameplay mode where players compete by boarding abandoned ships inside Excursion and looting the ships for resources and other treasures. Players will have to engage in NPC combat along with fighting other players to loot the ship.

Disembark are timed events inside the Space Misfits universe. Players will enter the Excursion zone at a specific time and must locate the abandoned ship inside the zone. Once the player locates the abandoned ship the player will deploy their Bio-Tech droid to enter the ship. The player will become the Bio-Tech Droid to have full control over the droid to enter. The Droid is equipped with a wide range of weapons to defend itself against other NPC and players.

Players will engage with other NPC Aliens and Pirates that are onboard along with other players who are trying to loot the ship. Players can go into the abandoned ship as a team or completely solo to slip in and out quietly.

Disembark is also part of the powerplay where players’ performance inside Disembark will go towards the Powerplay.

Disembark will be the first time players will be able to use their Bio-Tech Droids in Space Misfits. These droids are Fungible Tokens that were purchased in our pre-sale in 2019. Each droid will have various stats and perform differently compared to others. Only combat-related droids will be available in Disembark to use.

We are excited about what the future holds for Space Misfits and very amped about our Disembark gameplay that starts development soon. We know the FPS gameplay will reward players and keep them playing and also provide the engine we need to be built to help scale the Space Misfit universe.
